Dr. Mongiardini is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Transport and Road Safety (TARS) research group in the University of New South Wales. His main research interests are non-linear finite element analysis for assessing the crashworthiness of road safety hardware and the Verification and Validation (V&V) process of numerical models. He has worked on many research projects involving either full-scale tests or computer simulations, or both. He has also actively participated in the development of various vehicle models for simulating full-scale crash tests in roadside safety and he has contributed to the development of the V&V standard procedures for numerical models used in roadside safety in the USA.
