Dr Jake Olivier is Deputy Director of TARS Research Centre and a Professor in Statistics at the UNSW School of Mathematics and Statistics, where he is part of the Biostatistics and Ecology research group. His interests are focused on statistical methods applied to epidemiological, psychological and population health data. His main application area is statistical methods for analysing injury and road safety data with a focus on the assessment of bicycle helmet legislation and other road safety interventions, although he routinely collaborates with cancer, psychological and cardiovascular researchers. His statistical interests involve improving methods for assessing population-based interventions, methods for analysing categorical data, and estimating regression to the mean effects.
